GALATASARAY Latest Update: Is he going to be the next…?

Galatasaray is considering bringing Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, on loan.

Both Cenk Ergun, the sporting director, and Ibrahim Hatipoglu, the vice president of Galatasaray, have flown to Italy to meet with Osimhen.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international, who has so far been unable to gain a transfer abroad this summer, is not in Antonio Conte’s plans with the Italian team.

Chelsea was one of the teams that was interested in Ivan Toney from Brentford, but the Premier League transfer window closed on Friday without a deal being reached. Al Ahli, a Saudi Pro League team, was also in negotiations.

There is currently discussion about a possible temporary relocation to Galatasaray, with the Turkish window remaining open until September 18.

Thus far this summer, the team has added strikers Michy Batshuayi and Hakim Ziyech to its roster in addition to midfielder Gabriel Sara and defender Elias Jelert.

Galatasaray won the Turkish Super Lig for the twenty-fourth consecutive season last year, however as Young Boys eliminated them from the playoffs, they were unable to advance to the Champions League.

Osimhen moved from Lille to Napoli in 2020, and throughout his 133 games with the Italian team, he scored 76 goals.

With 26 goals in 32 league games, he was a major contributor to Napoli’s historic 2022–23 Serie A title victory—their first in thirty-three years.

He scored 17 goals in all competitions in 2023–24, despite Napoli finished 10th and 41 points behind champions Inter, despite a decline in his goal total.
