Kevin Magnussen made a strong statement about Haas F1 after a successful race in Bahrain. Returning to Haas for the 2022 season, Magnussen demonstrated his capabilities by finishing just behind the Mercedes team, a significant improvement considering Haas’s struggles in 2021.
He noted that he could see the Mercedes cars for most of the race, despite a late safety car, highlighting the team’s improved performance.
Magnussen’s Haas finished ahead of Valtteri Bottas’s Alfa Romeo, both McLarens, and Fernando Alonso’s Alpine, showcasing the car’s potential.
He expressed his excitement and gratitude, saying, “We were the strongest car in the midfield, and it feels so good to be back in this position. P5 today, crazy.”
This performance marked a turnaround for Haas, which outperformed many mid-field teams in both the race and qualifying, securing more points in Bahrain than in the previous two years combined.
Magnussen qualified ahead of George Russell and just behind Lewis Hamilton, signaling a promising season for Haas.
