Due to unresolved disputes within Moroka Swallows’ camp, their match against Mamelodi Sundowns has been canceled.

The Swallows, facing financial difficulties, had to request the postponement of their upcoming games. Coach Steve Komphela recently had to persuade players to honor a fixture against SuperSport United due to these constraints.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the cancellations and extended apologies to all stakeholders. This situation stems from past financial issues, including unpaid salaries and a suspension related to former players’ disputes.

The Swallows hope to resolve these problems soon, and the extra time might benefit their January transfer plans.

Moroka Swallows have requested the PSL to postpone their upcoming matches, including those against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows, due to financial issues within the club.

**Key Points:**

– **Financial Troubles:** Swallows are facing significant financial problems, which recently forced coach Steve Komphela to persuade players to participate in a fixture against SuperSport United, which they lost 2-1. They subsequently drew 0-0 with Royal AM.

– **Official Statement:** The club apologized for the cancellations, attributing them to an unresolved dispute between players and management. They have asked for the postponement of their remaining games this year to address the issue.

– **PSL Confirmation:** The Premier Soccer League has acknowledged Swallows’ inability to play their scheduled matches on December 27 and 30. The league apologized to all stakeholders affected by this situation.

– **Past Issues:** The club had previously faced a suspension for failing to settle debts with former players Vladimir Mandic and Obren Cuckovic from the 2014-15 season, which was resolved to allow player acquisitions. Additionally, players like Khetukuthula Ndlovu, Thabo Mosadi, and Mphakamiseni Nene had taken Swallows to the Dispute Resolution Chamber over unpaid salaries.

– **Future Outlook:** Swallows, currently ninth on the table with 19 points from 14 matches, will now focus on resuming competitive play in February after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The postponement may also provide extra time to evaluate transfer targets ahead of the January window.
