TRAGIC: Kevin Magnussen turn down deal due toKevin Magnussen’s exit from the American Formula 1 team Haas marks a pivotal point in his career, as he has been released by the team for the second time, putting his future in the sport at risk. Haas announced that Magnussen will leave at the end of the 2024 season, though his replacement has not been named yet. Esteban Ocon is anticipated to join Haas in 2025 after his departure from Alpine. Meanwhile, Haas has already secured Oliver Bearman to take over for Nico Hulkenberg, who is moving to Sauber.
Magnussen, who has driven for Haas in two different stints and previously raced for Renault and McLaren, where he achieved his only podium finish, has only managed to score five points this season compared to Hulkenberg’s 22. This disparity contributed to Haas’s decision to release him.
Magnussen expressed his gratitude to the team and Gene Haas for the opportunities given to him. Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu also thanked Magnussen for his contributions. As Magnussen looks ahead to 2025, his options are limited, and he may explore opportunities with teams like Williams, Alpine, or Sauber, though he will face stiff competition from other drivers.
