Cowboys Delay Training Camp Press Conference Due to Jerry Jones’ Paternity Case
The Dallas Cowboys have postponed their training camp press conference, originally set for Wednesday, July 24, to Saturday, July 27. This delay affects the media session with owner and general manager Jerry Jones, COO Stephen Jones, and vice president of player personnel Will McClay.
The change is attributed to scheduling conflicts, including Jones’ appearance in Texarkana, TX, for a civil trial related to his paternity case. Jones is involved in a lawsuit against Alexandra Davis, who claims he is her father, and her mother, Cynthia Davis. Jones is suing them for allegedly violating a 1998 agreement to keep the paternity secret, for which he paid over $3 million. This lawsuit follows a defamation suit filed by Davis in 2023 that was dismissed in March.
Jones denies being Davis’ father but has been ordered by a Dallas County judge to take a paternity test. He may need to testify in Texarkana, along with his wife and children, including Stephen Jones.
As a result, Dallas players will report to Oxnard on Tuesday, and head coach Mike McCarthy will be the first to address the media on Thursday before the team’s first practice.
