Unfolding Deal: Utah finalize a contract, clearing a path for a top-tier player…..

The Utah Jazz finalize an offer of two first-round picks for Walker Kessler, a player the New York Knicks are interested in acquiring.

According to SNY’s Ian Begley, several teams recently offered two first-round picks to Utah for Kessler, but the Jazz declined. It is unclear if there were any protections attached to these picks.

Kessler, who will turn 23 on July 26, averaged 8.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks in 23.3 minutes per game over 64 games (22 starts) during the 2023-24 season.

In his rookie year with the Jazz in 2022-23, he averaged 9.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks in 23.0 minutes over 74 games (40 starts).

As the Knicks look to replace Isaiah Hartenstein and find a backup for Mitchell Robinson, they are also interested in Precious Achiuwa.

Begley noted that the Knicks have been in contact with Achiuwa, a 24-year-old who averaged 7.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 24.2 minutes over 49 games (18 starts) last season. Achiuwa has attracted interest from several contenders and reportedly has a couple of offers on the table.
