New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll wasn’t about to get into a media war with Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni despite the latter’s trolling of the fanbase.

Sirianni told the Philadelphia media that Giants fans will understandably give him a hard time considering he’s the head coach of a division rival.

He said he usually lets it go but when he feels a fan gets under his skin, he retorts “We got your best player,” trolling the fanbase in reference to signing former Giants running back Saquon Barkley this offseason.

Regardless of the fact that Dexter Lawrence, not Saquon Barkley, has been the best player on the team for the last few years, Daboll wasn’t playing this game.
When asked by the media at Thursday’s OTA practice about his thoughts on Sirianni’s comments, Daboll didn’t give an inch.

“Yeah, I love Giants fans,” Daboll said.

When asked what he thinks about Eagles fans in a follow-up question, Daboll repeated.

“Yeah, I love Giants fans.”

While Sirianni’s comments are harmless and are part of the fun trash-talking and banter, Daboll isn’t giving anything. It’s the perfect response for a team that doesn’t need to get caught up in a media battle.

“Look, I’m focused on OTAs. I’m focused on our football team to go out here and have a good practice,” Daboll finally said.
