SATURDAY 15 JANUARY 1898
Celtic continued their unbeaten run in the Scottish League with a narrow but decisive 2-1 victory over Dundee at Celtic Park.
In front of a crowd of 6,000, Dundee first took the lead through an own goal from John Welford, then Jimmy Blessington scored from play to equalize, then a Dan Doyle error led to a goal.
When a penalty was awarded and the referee ordered a re-throw, Doyle hesitated to try again and Davey Russell came forward and spat on his hand, doing what was necessary.
Barney Battles, who briefly fell out of favor at Celtic Park, plays for Dundee.
SATURDAY 15 JANUARY 1910
A struggling Port Glasgow side were no real opponents against Celtic at Parkhead on a dull and depressing day.
Celtic won 4-0 with two goals from Jimmy Quinn and one each from Davey Hamilton and Willie Loney.
Celtic appear to be firmly on their way to winning the league for the sixth time in a row.

Celtic usually play tough games at Capilow and this game was no exception, but the game was clean and the large crowd well-behaved.
Celtic had a 1-1 draw thanks to Tommy McInally’s superb equalizer, but it wasn’t a great result today as Rangers beat Hamilton.
SATURDAY 15 JANUARY 1966
It was Celtic’s first defeat since September.
They lost 3-1 to Aberdeen on a cold day at Pittodrie, with the only goal coming from Joe McBride.
Jock Stein said he wasn’t laughing at this, but that defeat was bound to happen at some point and he hoped it wouldn’t cause long-term damage.

a game that really should never been played because of the high wind, Celtic go down to a late Motherwell winner at Fir Park. It is an unfortunate defeat, and one that will cost Celtic dearly at the end of the season. Murdo McLeod scored for Celtic as they went down 1-2 in a mockery of a game, Motherwell’s late winner being scored in the last minute by Brian McClair.

Anthony Stokes scored twice as Celtic secured victory over Hibernian, taking them eight points clear of the Glasgow side at the top of the table.

Mo Bangura scored his only goal in a Celtic shirt as Celtic defeated Steaua Bucharest 2-1 in Spain.
Celtic have brought in Rami Gershon on loan and are close to signing a young Australian project called Tom Rogic.

Friday night’s game at Tannadice had a great atmosphere as Celtic showed their style with a 4-1 victory over struggling Dundee United.
