REPORT:Dallas Cowboys owner hints that Green Bay Packers may ultimately fire Mike McCarthy

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was not enthusiastic about hiring head coach Mike McCarthy after the team’s NFC East victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

The Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders to secure the No.

2 seed in the NFC.

They play the Green Bay Packers next Sunday afternoon.

And a matchup with McCarthy’s former team could be the catalyst for his downfall in Dallas

Dallas Cowboys owner sends message to Mike McCarthy

According to Clarence Hill Jr.
of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reporters asked Jones about McCarthy’s future with the Cowboys.
Jones said he plans to see how “every game” goes in the playoffs.

Another important report from the weekend.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote Saturday that the Cowboys will keep McCarthy if the team does well in the postseason: “League officials and some people within the Cowboys organization Even coach Mike McCarthy continues to feel that he will be judged by how Dallas’ final game goes.
If the Cowboys do well in the postseason, McCarthy has a good chance of keeping his job.
But some say change could come for Dallas if it struggles and ends the season with an embarrassing loss, as it has the past two years.

Will the Green Bay Packers knock McCarthy out of a job again?

A loss to the Packers next Sunday would be embarrassing for McCarthy and the Cowboys.
The Packers overcame a slow start to the season and made it to the playoffs.
The Cowboys will likely compete for a spot in the Super Bowl.
But Packers fans have seen this show from McCarthy before.
McCarthy compiled a record of 125-77-2 as the Packers’ head coach.
He went 10-8 in the postseason.
Those aren’t bad numbers, but the Packers were so disappointed in losing to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs that they parted ways with him after the 2018 season.

McCarthy, who had a 42-25 regular season record with the Cowboys, has a winning percentage with the Cowboys (.
621) that is about the same as with the Packers (.
618).
But the Cowboys’ 1-2 playoff record (two losses to the San Francisco 49ers) won’t satisfy Jones in Dallas.

Will the Packers play a role in upsetting the Cowboys in Dallas next week and firing McCarthy twice?
