BREAKING NEWS: Grant Williams’ potential successor is the top internal candidate for the Boston Celtics, who are searching for big winger Brad Stevens.

O’Shea Brissett, rumored to be Grant Williams’ successor for the Boston Celtics for the 2023-24 season and possibly beyond, has been replaced by Brad Stevens, according to Inside the Celtics’ Bobby Krivitzky.

He could be the team’s top candidate as the manager is looking for a big winger.

Krivitzky introduced, “O’Shea Brissett is the top candidate within the company to find (a big wing for Stevens),” and then said the following.

On January 4, Stephens said all Boston needed in its rotation was a “big wing.
” “We’ll continue to see how we can find another big wing to help us.
I think that could come from within, and I also think we’ll continue to monitor free agency and trades.
,” Stevens said (h/t NBC Sports Boston).
“But the difference between this year and probably other years is that from a financial standpoint, our resources are pretty limited.
” Stevens also said Brissett and all others We have left the door open for the Reserve Wing to take advantage of the opportunity to fill that role.
“I don’t want to say this person isn’t in the building because he could be there right now,” Stevens said.
“I was really encouraged when the bench helped us in games where things weren’t going our way.
It’s nice to play five games in [seven] days at this stage and January will be no different.
” “It’s a tough road schedule for the boys.
It’s going to give them more opportunities and that will help them going into February.

Boston Celtics’ big wing role was designed to be filled by Oshae Brissett

Brissett was always designed to fill Grant’s role in Boston’s big man rotation.
MassLive’s Brian Robb crowned the former Indiana Pacers second-unit stud, calling him the successor to free agent Cees Williams.
“Brissett is only 25 years old, but he shows enough promise at Indiana to be a useful depth player in certain games,” Robb said, before adding, “He’s a very cost-effective player.
He could be a replacement for Grant Williams (and much more).
” ).
(worse shooter) if the team loses him to free agency or a sign-and-trade.
” So far, that hasn’t happened to Brissett, and he shouldn’t have.
Boston He is the strength of the Celtics’ top six and has won almost every game.
But as the season nears its halfway point, Brissett should do everything in his power to prevent Stevens from targeting a big wing on the trade market.
He could decline his player option and become a free agent in the summer, so he loses less of a chance to earn more money
